Cougars Stop Tijuana 10-7‏

The California Cougars continue their march to the playoffs with a 10-7 win over Revolucion Tijuana. The Cougars maintain a 1 game lead over Louisville for the PASL Pro wild card birth.
 
The Cougars started the game with four unanswered goals in the first quarter. Uriel Robledo started the scoring just 1:20 into the game. Brian Farber scored the next two goals, and Vicente Figueroa ended the four goal spree with 46 seconds remaining in the quarter.
 
Tijuana answered the call in the second quarter with four unanswered goals of their own. Former Cougar Eduardo Velez started their scoring just 1 minute and 15 seconds into the quarter. Chay Bardales gave the Cougars a lift right before the half scoring with 46 seconds on the clock to make the halftime score Cougars 5 Tijuana 4.
 
The Cougars had a strong 3rd quarter out scoring Tijuana 3-1. The Cougars scored 3 unanswered goals by: Tovar, Santana, and Bardales. Tijuana scored with 56 seconds left in the quarter to make the scor 8-5 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
 
Tijuana scored at the 12:15 mark to bring the game to 8-6. A bench clearing incident occurred with 6 minutes remaining in the game that resulted in the ejection of the Tijuana coach. A 2 minute blue card was issued to the Cougars and a 5 minute yellow to Tijuana. This created a 6 against 5 advantage for the Cougars. Antonio Sutton scored during the penalty to make the score 9-6. The Cougars then recieved a 2 minute penalty for 6 fouls and Tijuana capitalized on a goal from Velez. Enrique Tovar iced the game at 1:31 remaining to give the Cougars a 10-7 victory.
 
The Cougars next game is Saturday February 13th at 7:00PM vs the San Diego Sockers.
 
The game against the Sockers is "Pack The House Night" All tickets purchased in advance by 5PM on Friday February 12th will be $7.00 for any seat in the house. It is first come first serve for the best seating.
