Stockton vs San Diego‏

Friday Jan 29, 2010
The rivalry between California and San Diego lived up to its billing. A thriller 11-10 with several chances to tie it up at the end. The same result, a one goal victory by San Diego. San Diego took control early leading 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, and then 6-4 at the half. Uriel Robledo had a natural hat trick in the first half for the Cougars to keep the Cougars in the match. Jesus Molina was pulled out of the game early at 9:59 in the 3rd quarter in favor of the sixth attacker. Molina allowed 9 goals and only one save, and was by far his poorest performance as a Pro. Nelson Santana entered the game as the 6th attacker, when the Cougars were down 9-4. The Cougars then scored 6 of the final 8 goals of the game, mounting a comeback, but it was not enough as the Sockers held on for the victory. The Cougars out shot the Sockers 34 to 15 and Sockers goalkeeper Riley Swift came up big with 14 saves. Chicky Luna led the Sockers with 3 goals. Farber and Robledo each scored a hat trick leading the Cougars. Tovar finished the game with 4 assists.
