Cougars rally from behind for 6-4 win in Tijuana

Despite falling behind 3-0 in the first half, the California Cougars (1-1) managed to leave Furati Arena with a 6-4 win over Revolucion Tijuana on Saturday night. They finished their first road trip of the 2009-10 season with a two game split.

Nelson Santana started the comeback with a goal early in the second quarter. Brian Farber closed the Revolucion lead to 3-2 with another California goal in the second. Enrique “Qeeks” Tovar scored the equalizer with only a few minutes remaining in the first half.

The Cougars then took control of the match in the third with back-to-back goals. The first was scored by Isaias “Chi” Bardales. His goal put his new club up 4-3. The second in the third was netted by Evan McNeley. McNeley’s was the eventual game winner as it gave the Cougars a 5-3 advantage.

Vicente Figueroa scored the final blow with a goal midway through the fourth quarter.
