California Cougars Resign Veteran Susi
 Tuesday Aug 29, 2006
The California Cougars today announced that the team has agreed to terms with veteran forward Aaron Susi. The Cougars acquired Susi through a trade with the Milwaukee Wave in November 2005. Susi was originally acquired by the Wave as their first pick of the second round in the 2005 Dispersal Draft.
“We’re very excited to have Aaron back with the Cougars,” said Head Coach Troy Dayak. “We traded for him last season in hopes that he would be a strong part of the inaugural team in Stockton, and we look forward to his continuing to be a key component of our 2006-07 club.”
A San Diego, California native, Aaron Susi began the 2004-05 season with the St. Louis Steamers and joined the Cleveland Force in early February 2005. While with Cleveland, Susi played in 17 games, recording 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists. In the 2005 MISL Championship Finals Series versus the Wave, he scored four goals for the Force.
“Being from San Diego, I’m happy to be back playing in California,” said Susi. “I’m excited to build on the success we had at the end of last season.”
A longtime indoor veteran, Susi has played for the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL), the St. Louis Ambush of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL), the Wichita Wings (NPSL) and the San Diego Sockers both in the World Indoor Soccer League (WISL) and the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He attended San Diego State University where he led the team in goals, assists, and total points his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
