Sep 25, 2006 - The California Cougars announced that the team will open the 2006-07 Major Indoor Soccer League season Sunday, November 5th at 5:00 pm in the Stockton Arena against the Philadelphia Kixx. WESTPORT, Conn. (Tuesday, July 25, 2006) – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that the MISL Management Committee has approved the use of a multi-point scoring system, effective for the upcoming 2006-07 Regular Season that will commence in early-November. All goals scored will now be worth two points a piece, except those goals scored on shot attempts from on or beyond the 45-foot arc surrounding the goal, which will be worth three points. With the system changes, there will no longer be one-point goal scoring.

The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced Wednesday that the incoming Detroit Ignition will select up to sixteen (16) players in preparation for their inaugural MISL season during the 2006 Detroit Ignition Expansion Draft, via a 2 p.m (EST). teleconference on June 20.

The Detroit Ignition received Designation Lists from each of the active MISL teams on June 6. Team lists designate a maximum of nine (9) players as “protected” for that team’s roster (maximum of one (1) goalkeeper) for the 2006-07 MISL season. The players not designated as protected (“unprotected”) are eligible for selection by the Ignition, who will draft a maximum of 16 players (two goalkeepers permitted) from MISL rosters.

Antonio Sutton Named Assistant Coach
June 8, 2007 - (STOCKTON, Calif., June 8, 2007) – The California Cougars have announced that veteran defenseman Antonio Sutton will also serve as assistant coach for the 2007-2008 season. Sutton has played indoor soccer professionally for over eleven years, and has been with the Cougars since the franchise debuted in November of 2005. From 1997 to 2002 he played locally for the Sacramento Knights, helping them to a World Indoor Soccer League finals appearance in 1997, and a championship in 2000. He has been playing in the MISL since joining the Dallas Sidekicks for the 2002-2003 season, and has also seen time with the Cleveland Force and Monterrey Fury.

COUGARS ANNOUNCE SCHEDULE FOR 2008-09 SEASON
September 5, 2008 - The STOCKTON Cougars will host the Colorado Lightning in the inaugural Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro) match on Saturday, October 25th at STOCKTON Arena. The Cougars 2008-09 season schedule consists of 12 home dates and eight road dates.

October 16, 2008 - United States National Arena Soccer Team Head Coach Bernie Lilavois announced the additions of three-time Major Indoor Soccer League Most Valuable Player Greg Howes and five time arena soccer champion Jamie Swanner to his USNAST coaching staff.

November 7, 2008 - Cougars head coach Bernie Lilavois and Greg Howes led the US National Arena Soccer team to a silver medal at Torneo Internacional de futbol rapido Monterrey 2008.

COUGARS RE-SIGN NELSON SANTANA
November 12, 2008 - Santana, 29, netted 11 goals and tallied eight assists for the Cougars over 26 games in the 2007-08 season. He and Brian Farber finished with 32 points scored last season, fifth best on the club.

December 12, 2008 - STOCKTON Cougars head coach and forward Bernie Lilavois has been suspended as a player for one game after receiving a red card during STOCKTON's home loss on December 5 against the Texas Outlaws.
